Security of Information

We understand that security and privacy of your account information is critical. And while we recognize that the Internet is a public communication channel, we've taken every measure to ensure state-of-the-art security for our on-line banking services. That's why we insist you use a web browser that allows for a minimum of 40-bit encryption such as the commercial version of Netscape's web browser 2.01 or greater.

We also employ the Netscape Commerce Server, using a protocol called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). This allows for one of the highest encryption levels now available to provide privacy, server authentication, and message integrity over the Internet.

When you enrol, we'll assign a unique user I.D. and password to your bank. As you log in, once you reach the secured portion of your transmission, you'll see a solid key appear in the lower left corner of your screen. This lets you know that the information is encrypted and privacy of communication has been established. However, outside your browser, such as in any e-mail function, data transmission is not secure.
